I tried OneNote (by accident, since somehow it installs a printer onto your system that is a "Send to OneNote 2007" driver?) and it didn't pass the elevator test. I have no idea what it's good for.

So my belated answer to the birther accusation is in two parts:

1 - I am using the term 'birther' differently than most, and perhaps incorrectly. Basically the defining flaw of conspiracy theorists is that they are rather subject to confirmation bias. It makes no difference where you are on the political spectrum; supporting evidence, no matter how fantastical, is believed by default.

2 - While I'll give you full credit for both engaging in a civil conversation and amending the post in question, the initial post was made, I'll guess, because the story aligned with your pre-existing opinions. I'll also guess, based on the volume of posts on your blog and the amount of time it took me to research this issue, that you made no attempt at verifying the assertion in question.

So in far too many words, that's what I meant when I used the term birther. 'Fringey', as you put it, would have been a better choice.

Thanks for the link; I appreciate readers, especially ones who disagree with me - your feedback keeps me honest!

For the record, I am not a birther, and have spoken out against birthers and against other loons who think, for example, that Obama is setting up prison camps, etc.

What about the post of mine that you link to above strikes you as fringey?

There are two points to the post:

1) a quote from the LAHT saying "he president of the United Nations General Assembly, Rev. Miguel D’Escoto Brockmann, on Saturday declared… the former Cuban head of state Fidel Castro has been named “World Hero of Solidarity”…". This is a statement of fact, no?
Why are we stealing money from our citizens and giving it to this band of buffoons and murderer worshippers ?

2) my commentary that we are paying tax dollars to the UN, which I characterize as "a band of buffoons and murderer worshippers".

Is it point 2?

If so, what about it do you think is unsubstantiated?

Congrats!! That is similar to Oakland's CORE (Communities of Oakland Responding to Emergencies) program. I hope it survives the budget slashings but it is a great program.
